EBIO Technology and IT Information
How to set up or change your IdentiKey password:
Login with the CU Identity Manager. In order to set up or change your IdentiKey you will need your current Student ID number, social security number, and date of birth. Once on the CU Identity Manager website select "Activate your IdentiKey," accept the Computer Usage Policy, and then fill out the required fields.
Accessing the VPN (Virtual Private Network):
Your computer will automatically access the databases CU subscribes to if you are connecting through campus Wi-Fi or using campus computers. If you want you use the databases from your home computer, however, you will need to access the VPN. Visit the Office of Information Technology's VPN website to download the VPN to your personal computer at no cost.
Laptops, Mac adaptors, computer power adaptors, surge protectors and other useful computer items are available for daily checkout in the EBIO IT office, Ramaley N122D. A BuffOne card or other collateral is needed as a security deposit on the equipment.
Keyboards, mice, canned air, USB cables, network cables, VGA cables and more available for free in the EBIO IT office, Ramaley N122D.
Creating a Website:
It is highly recommended for graduate students to create a professional website to act as a living C.V.. This website should chronicle your research to help build your digital presence and will act as a part of your resume. Because the EBIO department wants to encourage graduate students to create their websites as soon as possible the university will host your website. An example university domain would be www.colorado.edu/ebio/lastname. While the university will host the site free of charge, you will need to build your website and update it yourself. You will want to move your site to a new host when you graduate from CU. If you prefer you can also host your own website with other campus resources or use an off campus host.
